Whittier International Health Student Endowment Fund

The Whittier International Health Student Endowment Fund is intended to promote Michigan State University students’ outlook toward international health, to enrich their experience in the field through exposure to international health settings, and to enhance their education and career potential as health professionals in the United States. In particular, these awards are intended to encourage and support students and give them the initiative to seek international opportunities to further their progress. The award amount for students is up to $500.

Gliozzo Scholarship Endowment in Global Health

Dr. and Mrs. Gliozzo established the Dr. Charles A. and Marjorie A. Gliozzo Scholarship Endowment to support IGH with its mission and to provide scholarships for global health education, research, and outreach for undergraduate and graduate students from all colleges and disciplines at Michigan State University.

The Dr. Charles A. and Marjorie A.Gliozzo Scholarship Endowment supports students who adhere to the eligibility requirements for study, research, or outreach in Africa, Latin America, Central America, and Asia. In these areas, the donors are concerned about health issues such as malnutrition, infectious disease, malaria, HIV, poverty, and polluted water that are symptoms of larger social, political, and environmental problems.

Schoenl Family Undergraduate Grants

The purpose of the Schoenl Family Undergraduate Grants for Dire Needs Overseas is to identify and fund the most outstanding project, proposed by a member of the MSU Honors College, which will serve dire human needs.

Examples of dire needs include, but not limited to: clean water, food, shelter, and medical care. The grants must be used within a 12-month period to make an impact that will help alleviate dire human needs.

Cunningham Scholarship Endowment in Global Health

Dr. and Mrs. Cunningham established the Dr. William C. and Norine Cunningham Scholarship Endowment to support IGH with its mission and to provide scholarships for global health education, research, and outreach for undergraduate and graduate students from all colleges and disciplines at Michigan State University.

This Scholarship Endowment supports students who adhere to the eligibility requirements for study, research, or outreach in under served areas around the world. In these areas, the donors are concerned about health issues related to refugees, displaced persons, climate change, disaster response, emergency medicine, water and food availability, among others.
