About Program Costs
Students intending to participate in one of IGH Global Health Education Abroad programs will pay credits to join these programs, anywhere between 3-6 credits, depending on the program. Students will also pay the program fee that covers all operational and on-site instructions costs that varies for each program, and they will also pay an IGH application fee of $150.
The MSU office of Education Abroad handles all billing and payments for IGH Global Health Programs with the exception of IGH application fee. Below is a breakdown of the information and more details on billing and payments and penalties can be found on this Education Abroad page: https://educationabroad.isp.msu.edu/plan/funding-options/billing-and-payments/
Payments
$150 IGH Application Fee
Students that apply to IGH Global Health programs will pay at the moment of application an IGH application fee of $150. This fee is not billed to the students’ account; students have to click in the button provided in the application template and make the payment using credit or debit card. If you missed the payment at the time of applying, you could use the following link to make the payment: https://commerce.cashnet.com/3850
$100 Application Deposit
By submitting an application for an education abroad program, your MSU Student Account will be billed a $100 application deposit for each application. Deposit means that this will count towards the total of your program fee. For example, if your program fee total is $2,000, this $100 first deposit will discount $100 of those $2,000 leaving pending to pay $1,900.
$200 Commitment Deposit
Once you are accepted into your program you will have two weeks from the date of your acceptance letter to commit to your participation. When you commit, you will be billed an additional $200 commitment deposit to your MSU Student Account. Deposit means that this will count towards the total of your program fee. Following the example above, if your program fee total is $2,000, this $200 second deposit will discount $200 of those $2,000 leaving pending to pay $1,700 ($100+$200 deposits).
Remainder of your program fee
Once you are committed the office of Education Abroad following MSU billing cycle will bill to your student account the remainder of your program fee. Following the example above, if your program fee total is $2,000, you were billed $100, then $200, so the remainder will be $1,700, in this example.
Tuition credits
These are billed separate from your program fee, IGH fee and deposits.
Out of pocket expenses
These are the expenses that are not included in your program fee. This amount varies depending on the program.
